We represented Peak Completions in a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Packers Plus, which also involved two other co-defendants. The dispute centered on open hole ball drop systems used in fracking oil and gas wells. The technology and systems in question were crucial to Peak’s business, and the potential damages posed a significant threat to the company’s future operations. Working closely with the co-defendants and leveraging Peak’s extensive institutional knowledge, we developed a strategic approach that ultimately led to the dismissal of the case and the patents being declared unpatentable by the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
