Former Texas Business Court Staff Attorney brings complex business dispute experience to the firm.
Mitby Pacholder Johnson PLLC (MPJ) is pleased to announce that Foster Baird has joined the firm as an associate. Baird represents businesses and individuals in a broad range of complex commercial disputes, with experience in general business litigation, contract disputes, oil and gas matters, and other civil litigation in state and federal courts.
Before joining MPJ, Baird served as senior court counsel to Judge Sofia Adrogué of the Texas Business Court, Eleventh Division, where he gained experience with complex commercial disputes and matters before the newly established Texas Business Court.
“Foster brings a strong foundation in complex litigation, along with valuable experience involving the oil and gas industry,” said Steven Mitby, founding partner of MPJ. “His experience and understanding of commercial disputes make him a natural fit for our firm’s strong litigation team. We look forward to working with him as he continues to develop his practice and serve our clients.”
Baird assists clients throughout all stages of litigation, including case assessment and strategy, discovery, legal research and motion practice, depositions, hearings, and trial. He works closely with clients to understand their business objectives and develop practical and efficient strategies for resolving disputes.
Baird also has experience handling litigation involving the oil and gas industry, providing him with an understanding of the legal and business issues facing energy companies, owners, operators, and other industry participants. His energy-related experience includes disputes involving contracts, business relationships, and other matters arising from oil and gas operations.
Baird is the fifth attorney to join MPJ this year, as the firm continues its strategic growth and has doubled its attorney headcount since the start of the year.
Baird earned his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center, where he served as notes and comments editor of the Houston Business and Tax Law Journal. He earned his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Texas Christian University.
