We defended F-1 Firearms against patent infringement claims brought by an Oregon-based parts manufacturer. Initially, we attempted to resolve the claims through a nominal settlement, but when those efforts failed, we conducted an exhaustive investigation that led to the dismissal of the claims. Our team uncovered undisclosed co-inventors on the plaintiff’s patents, identified prior art that invalidated those patents, and issued a Rule 11 notice under the Federal Rules of Procedure. After reviewing the compelling evidence we gathered, the plaintiff dismissed its claims with prejudice and without any payment. Our successful challenge to the patents not only protected F-1 Firearms but also helped other defendants avoid liability to AXTS.
